Webinar Aug. 26: DOE Plans $100M Investment in High Energy Physics Research

Join the Society for Science at User Research Facilities (SSURF) on Thursday, August 26, 2021 at 12:00 – 12:30 pm EST for an informative webinar with Dr. William Kilgore, Program Manager for Theoretical High Energy Physics at the US Department of Energy’s Office of Science. REGISTER
The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) has a new funding opportunity announcement (FOA) describing plans to invest $100 million over the next four years on university-based research on a range of high energy physics topics.
Funding will support research and experiments that explore the frontiers of high #energy #physics, which require some of the world’s most advanced instruments. See more on the FOA here.
Selected projects will be aimed at further developments in particle physics theory, advanced particle #accelerators, and new detector technologies, which scientists will use in continued explorations of the subatomic world.
Dr. Kilgore will describe the objectives of the funding, the scope of eligible applicants, relevant and expected participating facilities, deadlines and other details regarding this opportunity. Following Dr. Kilgore’s update, guests will be able to submit questions for real-time discussion. The webinar will be recorded and made available on SSURF’s website and social media.
